Why Holi is Celebrated?

Holi is celebrated in the remembrance of Holika. This festival is also known as Holika dahan because in order to fulfill the wish of his brother Hirankashpu, holika tried to sit on fire and burned herself. Holika's brother Hirankashpu was a very cruel king and he don't want anyone to worship God but his son Prahlad was devotee to God. To punish his son he decided to make him burn on fire , to fulfill this wish he decided to take help of his sister Holika and she was blessed that she can not burn in fire. so they decided to sit on fire with lapping prahlad and thought holika will alive and prahlad will die but happened just opposite! In this remembrance Holika dahan is Celebrated.
